Job Summary:

Provide compliance audits to assist Air Force Systems Networking unit (AFSN) in verifying implementations completed by outside BITI PMO integration contractors, ensuring that implementation meets industry best practices, and DISA STIGs. Remediate audit scans for BITI bases (45 per year).  Review the implementation documentation for highly complex network solutions against DISA STIGs, BITI TRD, and industry best practices and provide an Audit Analysis Report of any discrepancies.  Support multivendor upgrades into the AF Network environment including routers/switches (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, HP, Foundry, etc.)

Essential Functions:

  • Provide analysis, and troubleshooting support for network discovery outputs obtained by a Government provided automated tool such as WhatsUp Gold' WUG and/or Airwave Management System to determine the baseline BAN at the base
  • Provide network discovery tool maintenance on Government provided hosting equipment by applying vendor release patches, and operating system security patches. Produce monthly release IAW CM plan
  • Create Regular Expressions (REGEX) audit scripts as required in support of network discovery scanning
  • Test all REGEX scripts in a Government provided integration facility against Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment
  • Remediate audit script errors resulting from scans conducted using Government provided automated network discovery tools such as WUG
  • Provide pre-verification analysis, and obtain site specific sample configurations at least 1 week prior to audit for each device model at the BITI PMO integration Contractor's immersion lab utilizing network scanning tools such as WUG. Provide findings utilizing Audit Analysis Report
  • Provide feedback to the BITI PMO integration Contractor and the Government on any nuances of the network under test/evaluation
  • Provide the Government and BITI PMO integration Contractor an Audit Analysis Report that needs to be remediated with respect to scan outputs provided by network discovery. The Audit Analysis report shall be accomplished during BITI PMO integration Contractor immersion lab scanning, prior to cutover, and post cut over of newly deployed OEM equipment
  • Recommendation reports shall include STIG deficiencies, configuration inconsistencies, audit script errors, and site specific rationale for deviations from best practices, and STIG deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with the BITI PMO integration Contractor, base communication squadron, and AFLCMC/HNI PMO on issues that must be remediated to meet industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with BITI TRD, and DISA STIG prior to installation of OEM equipment as provided in Audit Analysis
  • Track STIG evolution and assess impacts to audit compliance scripts.
  • Store all network discovery outputs to a Government provided secure location. All outputs must be saved in Government agreed upon format based off of BITI PMO Contractor immersion lab scans, pre-cutover scans, and post cutover scans


  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must possess an active IAT Level II certification such as, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA
  • Must possess one of the following Professional Level Computer Environment (CE) qualifications such as, CCNP, CCDP or Associates Level Certification (CCNA) with 5 Years' experience or be able to obtain within 6 months' post hire date
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Project
  • Must be able to meet all contract deliverables, project meetings, milestones, reviews, inspections, base configuration timelines, Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) dates, status of applicable Air Force (AF) Forms, all required permits, quality assurance inspections and unique tasks and events requests
  • Must be familiar with Cisco, Juniper, HP and Foundry, etc.), firewalls (i.e., Sidewinder, Palo Alto, and Source Fire, etc.)
  • Must be able to create, test, and audit Regular Expressions (REGEX) audit scripts
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve network issues that may arise during implementation
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking
  • Must be able to operate and meet imposed deadlines.
  • Must be able to provide network discover tool maintenance, apply vendor release patches, and operating system security patches
  • Must be able to research and help develop solutions for cybersecurity requirements.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision or detailed direction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
